A great day!!!

A long week at work is finally over, somehow month end happens every month. Today was a day to relax, and do odds and ends at home.
The attached tags were made for a "Black and White" tag swap. I used stamps from various companies, but the majority were Tim Holtz. I also found an envelope of various stamps/postmarks in my stash of stuff that I was able to use.
Tomorrow is another unplanned day - lots of stuff to do at home, unless something better comes along.

Poe 4 X 4

This image is for an Edgar Allen Poe 4 X 4 swap. All the stamps were from Cherry pie and I airbrushed Copic E33 (sand) for the back ground, mounted on black card stock. It will be a busy week, lots of swaps to get out.

July 21,2010

This is a postcard I made for a swap, the theme was "South America". After looking at the scan, I see I really need to color the backgrounds with a heavier hand. The tree stamp was "Stampscapes" and the donkey was from "Viva Los Vegas." Doctor day tomorrow - YUCK!

July '10 Technique ATC

I can't hardly believe it's so long since I posted on here. Time has certainly flown by this summer.

Here is an ATC I did for a Technique Swap. The scan doesn't come through very clearly, but I painted water color paper with acrylic paint - butter cream and sage green. I then used a comb to make a design in the print. The images are stamped and embossed in black and I then added black pearls. ATC's with Dots and an Asian Idex book are the next projects.

Memorial Day Weekend - 2010

I subscribe to the Simple Dollar blog and today he had an interesting post, entitled the Public Humiliation Diet. This can work with weight, finances, whatever. To me, one of the best points was to be accountable. So many people do not take accountability for their lives - it is always somebody else's fault. If you are too heavy or in debt or have issues with a family member, take responsibility for it and correct it.

That being said, my weight today was 166#. Granted it was mid morning before I weighed and I usually do it 1st thing in the morning, but still things are headed in the wrong direction.

Enough of my diatribe.

I have attached a scan I did of an ATC for a Technique swap.

Hope to have a good weekend, and the same to whoever is reading.

Sunday, April 20th, 2010

It has been quite awhile since I wrote anything and I really need to back in the habit of doing this. The card that is attached is one I made for a Girl Scout swap. I really like the way it turned out. Things are going good all around the house. I went back to the doctor on Friday and still have those extra 25 pounds hanging around, but will continue to work on that one. A busy week is in the works with stamping tomorrow night and sorority Tuesday night. Weather permitting I will walk with Jeanne on Wednesday, then the rest of the week is mine.

Getting caught up

I took a vacation day and did get some things done. I made 2 cards for 2 separate swaps and got some items gathered up for a garage sale this weekend. I am taking all of my Mom's clothes that I had here. It's time! Plus, she wore a size 4 and I won't see that again!
Tomorrow I will start the 100 day challenge (100 days left until the end of the year). I will be posting how that is going. My challenge will be to move my stamp area from the basement to the upper floor, but first I need to clean up that floor. That's where I had Mom's clothes, so it's a start.
Attached is an image I made awhile ago.

It's Sunday night

and we've had a beautiful weekend. Things went good, I got all the things on the list done, we went to Jeremy's for ribs today for lunch after having Ben all night last night. He's such a good boy and such a little stinker! Jeremy and Amanda will have their hands full with him.

Tomorrow's Monday and then it's month end.

Here's my list for tomorrow:

1. Write down/do my evening routines.

2. Start to get out the Halloween decorations.

3. Write a letter to Shirline in Florida

I'm going to try to attach a photo of an ATC I did. I hope I can figure this out. Thens it's a bath and bed. This grandma's tired. I also need to finish the book I'm reading. I love the Sisterchick series of books, so glad Kathie told me about them!

Thursday night

Yeah!!!! I got things done from my list yesterday and all my items from today's. It really does feel good to get those things accomplished. It's beautiful weather here in the midwest, doesn't seem like fall at all, but we know that it's coming. Homecoming is in town this weekend. I remember those high school days - we should had the world by the tail. But hindsight is also perfect.
My list for tomorrow includes:
1 load of laundry
dust
bedroom floor
5 more items for Goodwill or Thrift shop.

It's amazing how much stuff I feel I can get rid of. A friend of mine called it "Earth Stuff" and she's right. We all really just have way too much "Earth Stuff" and need to concentrate on the important stuff - the non Earth stuff. That's what makes us really rich!

2. clean up after supper - Dave cooks
3. 1 load of laundry
4. sort/toss mail
5. bathroom
6. make bread from Friendship starter
7. bag 5 more items for Good Will

So Happy to be back

I am so glad I remembered I had this site, I am going to use it in to help me with my 12 step program. Things are going good, I have been tracking my revenue/expenses and just feel good in general. I hope to be totally back on track soon.

My first entry

Today is the first day of the rest of my like - quite a cliche but I will make it work. I am going to get back into the written work and also the paper arts. It is sunny but chilly today in the midwest. Yesterday was my grandson's 8th birthday - that just doesn't seem possible. I will post artwork as it develops. I will conquer my cluttered life and get on track.
